Sunday lunchtime

A new post as the other's getting rather full!!!
Next in is from Wendy S who says, after asking me for clues and getting a silly reply!!!
"Can't blame a girl for trying. This is my tatted something, Day 2 and 3 for you. Day 3 is done in dark brown. Now would that go with that pink, you think? Would that be too much contrast?"
Anything goes with a TIAS Wendy!!!!

Now another pink offering - hope I don't get confused!!!  This time from Rosemary who says:-
"Finally I got Day 2  finished!  My husband scanned this one and it looks a lot clearer than Day 1.

Looking forward to Day 3 which I've noticed is in my inbox already - unopened.  Gosh!  some tatters are quick off the mark"

Next we have Deanna's day 3.  She says the following:-
"Day 3 is attached.  I enjoyed doing this one.  My fingers are learning to cooperate.  Not sure if the colors will be right.  I thought I was using a 20 wt thread but turns out it was 30 wt and have very few colors in that weight."

Here's the one we've all been waiting for - Marjan's with her 'explanation' of a Wothi.  I THINK!!!!
"Hello Jane,
Here is my day 3 of Wothi. Unfortunately I let her read your blog and now....
She red that more people didn't know what she is and even one person thougt she was OLD(!) German .....
Old... she is just 3 days old and pure Dutch! Somebody asked for hints but Wothi forbid me togive them but naughty as I am, while she was asleep, I put al her parts together for the foto. So now everybody can see what a Wothi is! Lets just hope Wothi won't find out what I did!!!"

Now we have Elizabeth's picture.  She's sent in both day 2 and day 3 together.
"Here is my Day 2 and 3"

Nearly time for tea now and I've done nothing today except talk to all the super tatters who keep dropping into my inbox!!!  Next in is Stephanie who says this:-
"Happy Sunday!  Day 2 Fresh off the scanner.  I won't even hazard a guess yet because I don't have the slightest idea.  Just noticed the link for Day 3 is up so I am off to pick a color."

This is pure dedication - DO read Bonnie's message:-
"i hope this works .. i saw.u'd posted day 3 today so i did mine in the car on the way 2 the ship ... size 40 tatskool solid from coral reef collection .... Bonnie"

Now we've got Hannah's contributions for all three days!!!  Here's what she says:-
"Taking part is the easy part!  You’re the one who’s created all of this fun and excitement in tat-land!  Attached is a picture with my tatting for days 2 and 3.  My guess is that this is going to be a tropical fish!"

Riet is translating the TIAS for her guild members and here are three pictures from Cobie.  As Riet says - this is very interesting as all the colours are so different.  Thanks, Cobie.

Next in is from Sue Anna who says:-
"Day 3 attached. OK so it is not looking like a giant squid. Now I really have no idea!"

Next I have a link to Rayanna's blog.  That looks grand, Rayanna but do tell your daughter that they will have to wait for the rest of the 'fishy' (????) story!!!

Now the next is Heather's contribution with the following remarks:
"Day 3 coming at ya Jane, its a Who-see-whats-it? or perhaps -

It looks like a basket in the wind with a flower?? no?? They arent attached that is just how I took the pictures lol.  Thanks Jane I am still stumped. My daughter said it is a lady lol. My day 3 is in deep dark green!"

Next is from Brenda who seems to be getting distracted by (dare I swear on this blog?) housework!!!  YIKES - I said the dreaded word.  Anyway she's done day 3 after doing the H word.  Here's what she said:-
"Had to clean up Jane. I had more thread on the floor than I had to work with."

Now we have Sandra's offering.  Hope Curly's watching progress too - or is he out driving?  Here's Sandra's blog link - if you want a 'giggle a day' do read her blog.  Here's her day 3 offering:-
"The fringed thing could be a horse's mane.  Do you like my colors?"
Love your colours - very 'suitable' maybe!!!!

Saturday, 9 January 2010

Saturday - later on!!!

First in this posting is from Jane who says this:-
"I'm a bit slow off the starting blocks. I've had visitors this week, and then a huge pile of figs to process before they went off. Bottles and bottles of jam and chutney later, time to get to tias!
I'm a bit worried that my chains on part one face the wrong way, but I can probably correct that when I see where I'm going.  Great fun, thanks. Happy tats, Jane"
Ooooh, Jane, I LOVE fresh figs although can't stand the dried ones we get over here!!!!

Next in is from Wanda who says:-
"Here's Day 2.  Curiouser and curiouser!  I'm ready for Day3!"

Next is from Ancolie who has a problem for me!  Not sure if my French is good enough for that, lass!!!  Here is what she's asking me to do!!:-
"Hello,
Here is Here is my TIAS day 2. It looks like the head of Jellyfish wonder if I did well?
you say, that it will be a :
 " ?!@£&£%**(!$." ! I "
could you translate into  french ?  Thank you for sharing this TIAS"

Now the next offering is from Caroline who says:-
"I had to take time out to put flowers and crystals in them for my Granddaughters wedding the 29th.  11 Bridesmaids so hands are rather sore today.  Hope I can get them feeling better and working to I can crochet, knit, and tat today."

Next in is Cynthia's - finally sorted with the help of the new 'toy' and now below. Here's what she said:-
"Day 1 and 2 of Jane Eborall’s January 2010 TIAS.  Thread used—Lizbeth size 20 Color Springtime number 20-115.  Yes it needs to be trimmed but my scissors are not by the computer…LOL"

The next is from Margaret who has been to a great deal of trouble!!  Here's her story:-
"Thank you for the fun of another T.I.A.S.  Having unearthed my scanner I'm sending Days 1 & 2 together."

Now this next message from Joanie has me worried, very worried.  She's worked out what I'm doing.  I'm very, very reluctant to pass on her message but I will in the cause of truth and honesty.  Here goes:-
"Also, I have a bone to pick with you! It is called:
Tatters Unite!!!
I have finally figured out what a TIAS really is!!! It is a way to keep Jane occupied during the winter (Or times of confinement to the indoors during snow.). She is preying on our good nature to follow her blimey patterns. I'm sure she is sitting there in a warm house while the snow beats on the outside, with her glass of red wine, just laughing up a storm at all of us with our tatting and guesses as to what on earth we are really tatting!!!!
This is a conspiracy by Jane!!!  We are her form of entertainment! Are we going to take this from her?!?! Of course we are!!! As we all come back to the blog each and every day, at least once a day, to find out who has emailed her their days tatting and to find out if she has posted another part of this pattern! Hurry Jane, I'm finished with today's tatting and am having trouble waiting for the next day!!!
I do hope you know that I am teasing you BIG time!!! So I will offer BIG hugs to you!"

Saturday

Well happy Saturday one and all!!  Here's the first one into my inbox which is rather full this morning!!!
This is from IsDihara who says:-
"Sending in my day 2 attempt> This one tatted up quickly, a little too quickly perhaps? I've got to say , in size 40 thread, the day 2 rings were ridiculously small to make and I'm thinking of shucking the whole thing and starting over in size 20 or even size 10 (and I only have one ball of white size 10 in my possession). Will there be many more of these tiny rings?

I'm intrigued by the lengths of the chains and the pattern and sizes of the rings. Depending on how the next day or two works out, this has potential to be something extraordinary.
P.S.  The mysterious (and sensitve) Wothi really must share with us more clues as to her (his? Its?) origin and species. The tease is a terrible distraction to inquiring minds. Marjan, please can we have a hint as to the lovely Wothi?"

Next is Mary who says:-
"Looks like day 2's TIA looks like a bunch of flying kites….LOL"

Cripes.  Even little sister's taking part.  I'm SO flattered.  Here's what she has to say:-
"Well decided to have a go with the cotton you gave be last year Altin Basak mainly because it was the only cotton I had that was pretty and varigated.
Easy to follow instructions, mind you I'm so used to following your great patterns!"

Now we have SueAnna's in the most stunning green variegated.  This is what she says:-
"Attached is picture of my day 2 of TIAS. Yeah for snow days!"

Next in is Anita's and she says:-
"Third time is charm... hope this attempt looks right  :-[ "

Looks totally and utterly perfect to me.  LOVE the colours too.

Last in this morning is from Shanan who has had a few problems!!  Un-wanted picots kept putting themselves in the way!!!  Let her explain:-
"Well, after untatting and re-tatting and cutting and re-tatting here is day 2.  I kept wanting to add picots where they don't belong!  Ring 11 still ended up with a small p, but after four attempts to re-open the ring and breaking thread, I just left it.  This ring was determined to have a p in it!!"

Another offering from Debbie who gives us links to threads too.  Now, Debbie, I'm trying to de-stash (use up!!) my threads - please don't tempt me!!!!
"It's not perfect but I did it!  I used a variegated, Rubi 40 m, from Brazil.  I purchased them from E-bay.  Their websites are: www.pyarn.com,  www.paraguaythreads.com  andwww.cottonheart.etsy.com.  They have some good deals on lots."

Now we have Marco's offering and here's what she has to say:-
"here is my result from the first two days."

Now here's Tine's progress:-
"This is my Tias part 1 and 2.  Groetjes Tine"

Friday, 8 January 2010

Day 2 - continued!

The first in this section is Rosemary from 'somewhere in Australia'!!!!  She apologises for being late but as there's no time limit on the TIAS it doesn't matter!!!  Well, time doesn't matter to me, anyway!!!  Here's what she has to say:-
"have been busy with visitors so I'm late finishing Part One.  I took a photo of it and it's attached (it's not very clear I'm afraid)  Hopefully my photo taking will improve over time  :)"

The next day 2 offering is from Sonja.  Here's what she has to say:-
"Here is my TIAS day 2 from Holland"

Now here's Shanan's day 1.  She says:-
"Here is my day 1 pic.  I am out of colored threads at the moment, but just got this DMC Cordonnet in size 20 from Handy Hands.  I am liking it better than my usual size 20 crochet thread!!  Now to see if I can make my own HDT with it!! My tatting blog link is below my name, if that helps you any.
http://soapsandshuttlelace.wordpress.com/ (tatting blog)"

Next in is Geraldine's day 2.  This is what she said:-
"enjoyed second day, still can't get how you started so did it with c.t.m. some how have got day 3 should i have this.got it from link from tat and not a lot else. are well have done it .using altin basak 50 thread love using this thread and has good range of colours.does it matter wish way the chains face on day 1/2 bits? happy tatting everyone geraldine."
Now, I have to confess!!!  I inadvertently put day 3 up as a link. Now, you can't blame brain cell number 3!!! It was my mistake.  BUT the good news is that I'm confident that you'll NEVER guess what the TIAS is going to be!!!!

Next in line is Brenda's.  She says:-
"I cannot do any tatting without making a mistake. Part two isn’t any different. I used the wrong shuttle for the start of the first ring. Not to worry, all adds to the excitement. One thing though, if it doesn’t turn out how it should…….I am getting experience with hiding the threads. Thanks for that."
Actually, Brenda, I can't do ANYTHING without mistakes!!!!

Nine o'clock in the evening and next in is from SandraE.  She says:-
"Hi Jane - It's Sandra Eichelberger.  Here's what I've got for days one and two - done in Lizbeth size 20 Grape Pizzaz."

Day 2

First in on Day 2 is Riet.  Riet has the links a few days before the rest of you so that she can translate them for her Dutch guild.  I'm SO grateful to Riet for this.  Here's her 'rendition' of the second day.

Now I'm in trouble from Marjan who has sent her Day 1.  Does anybody else know what a Wothi is?  I've even 'googled' it and still don't know.  I have a feeling that I'm being teased here!!!!  This is what Marjan says:-

"I am afraid my mailprogram didn't do his job yesterday.... can't find the mail I was supposed to send you.  Well anyway, here is my day 1 of the Wothi! she is looking gorgious don't you think?

I do have a problem now thanks to you.... You said you don't know what a Wothi is and that hurted her very much! Now I have a sad, very sad Wothi on my hand, crying all day, yelling at lunchtime, screaming in the middle of the night....
It is going to cost al lot of love, understanding en TLC to make this up to her....
And really Jane.... you've never heard of a Wothi??? tssk tssk.... girl... girl.....
lots of greetings!"

Well, next in was a second email from Marjan with more of her Wothi!!!!  Still can't find one on google!!!  I think the Wothi lives in your head, Marjan!!!!!  Here's day 2:-
"Good morning again Jane!  Here is my day 2 of the lovely Wothi!

She is doing better now, I've explained to her that you are a very lovely lady and did not mean to hurt her feelings.  But never heard of a Wothi..... still unbelievable....."

Now we have a super picture from Isabel and her friends!!!  She says:-
"Here it's my day 2. I can't guess what kind of things will be appear. Maybe in the next part."
Sadly, Isabel, I don't think you'll guess from the next part - unless you're a mind reader and my mind's not easy to read!!!!!

Now along wanders Heather into my inbox.  Here's her day 2:-
"My #2 is attached this is looking quite interesting I still have no clue what it could be??"

Tine says this:-
"after day 2, it looks like a tail of a veiltailfish.  Greets Tine"

Next to pop in is from Bonnie.  Bonnie's going to be away next week but has the links for days 3 & 4.  She's sworn to secrecy, though and if she says anything the tat police will raid her house and steal ALL her tatting stash.  Here's what she says:-
"Here is my Day 2, Jane.  Day 3 & 4 are sealed and ready for me to do while I enjoy a life of leasure next week.  I'm not sure I'll be able to get them to you until I return though, but I'll try to send via my cellphone to your email.   Happy TIAS.  See you in a couple of weeks."

Announcing day 2

Still 'snowed in' here in my part of tat land.  Beginning to go 'stir crazy'!!!  Who said that I'm already crazy?  I know I am!!!

Anyway, here's the link for day 2.  Now that everybody has got into the swing of it I think I'll be 'hotting up the pace' for a few days although things do get more 'challenging' later!!!!!

Friday morning

Plenty of eye candy this morning.  DO read to the bottom especially Terri's as she COULD be right!!!!!

Starting off with Sunela who says:-
"I was not sure whether you wanted everyone's pictures.  I posted it in my blog.  In case, you want, here is my version of Day1.  http://beads-n-lace.blogspot.com

Here's Sue Anna's version of day 1 now:-
"Here is a link to my picture for my TIAS. Sue Anna.  My blog: http://sueannasblog.blogspot.com/
It is done in size 20 HDT 'Celery' made by Yarnplayer.

The next picture in is from J.B. who says:-
"Here is my day 1.  I am using Lizbeth’s March Breeze thread."

Now we have Bev's offering:-
"I'm using size 20 thread.  Yarnplayer's Vibrato, Tatskools RB Agua; haven't decided on third, but it will probably be magenta or chocolate brown Lizbeth. I really like that chocolate color."

Now we have Vanessa's day 1:-
"Thanks for running the tat-it and see.  Here is my product from day 1."

Next in is from Wendy S.  She's asking for clues!!!  Hmmmm, sorry Wendy, none at all!!!!!!!
"I know I am late but better late than never. I have done this in Anchor Pearl Cotton 8 in a multicolour pink. I love the colours the other tatters have chosen for this.  Could it be an insect of some kind? Just a wild guess. Any clues?"

Now, is Terri right or is she wrong?!?!?
"Here's my scan of Day 1 progress.  Today's Guess: The Great Wall of China - well, it could be...   This is so much fun!!"

Thursday, 7 January 2010

Thursday - a bit later on!!!

Just in from Anita is her contribution!!  Here's what she says:-
"Jane, Here's my Day 1. I'm using #10 crochet cotton.  Decided to use Fiesta Colors to make it bright and fun!  I'm a new needle tatter, just learning the basic techniques.  Hope I can complete the project!"

Next in is from Heather who says:-
"I am going to keep up with this one... i hope :)   Heather"
Don't worry, Heather, I'm sure you'll keep up.

Now Caroline has sent her day 1 in.  She says:-
"Sorry for being slow.  New camera that took a while to figure out.  I am using Lizabeth thread size 20."

Next we have Geraldine's contribution and she says:-
"well Jane ,you have done it again, got us using are brain cells to think what brain #3 has come up with this time.mine at present looks like frog with no head. what a wonderful way to start the new year. "

Now the next day 1 is from Melanie who says:-
"Attached is my imperfect photo of my attempt at the TIAS day 1. I love puzzles and can't wait to see day 2!"

Thursday morning - early!

First one into my inbox this morning is from Bonnie.  She says this:-
"Here is my day 1.  I am using Tatskool's Coral Reef size 40 HDT. "

Next is Kika's contribution and here's what she has to say (thanks, Wally!):-
"Wally motivated us to participate in mini-challenges of a mysterious pattern. I found it very entertaining, is also a pleasure to participate in something of yours, because your pattern site has been my guide."

One comment in today is from Mary who says:-
"This is my first time doing one of your TIAS, since it is in the 20's here I figure it is a good time to sit back and relax and take on a new project during this cold spell."
No picture attached so maybe there'll be one later, Mary?  OK, here it is.  Thanks, Mary.

Next is from Kelly who has this to say:-
"Hi Jane I am taking part in your TIAS but we do not have Outlook Express on our computer so I can't e-mail my picture to you. But I will keep up with posting each part on my blog. Fell free to copy and paste from there if you like. "
I've tried to upload your picture, Kelly, but it won't 'cooperate' with me at this moment in time!  I'll try again later!!!  Here's the link to your blog.

Now we have Liz's offering (Artlady).  She says her tension isn't good but believe me by the time she's finished this TIAS she'll be fine!!!!!  Personally I think it looks FINE.  Here's her remark:-
"I am attaching a copy of my piece.  The tension isn’t good however this is my first real attempt at SR so I was very excited when the rings closed.  Thank you very much for catering for me with this."
