Well I think it's safe to say I was COMPLETELY wrong in all of my guesses and my husband, who knows nothing about tatting but checked out Jane's website to have his guess as to what it was, will probably be correct. Damn! I'm enjoying this so much, Jane. Thanks for the great instructions and adding something exciting to the end of each day!

Jane: Ring 38 is on the same pattern line as the chain. It seems to be showing in italics (hard to tell on my screen), but is not red, so I just wanted to confirm if it should be reverse order tatting? Thanks, Michelle.

You are right, Michelle. R38 should be there. Blooming blogger has proved a bit of a nightmare when copying and pasting into it and I've tweaked each day so many times I've lost count!!! I'll point R38 out to folks when I do day 8.
Thanks SO much.

Jane,

I am a little lost with the two very long picot and the second one indicated as being twisted. I am not sure to what I am twisting this picot to. Sorry for the stupid question.

I think I understand the first part....making the 1st vlp and joining to the chain being made. Is that correct??

I still can't guess what it is!!.... my mind is not working.

Thanks -Sunela

I will be so deflated when this ends. It has been 'just enough' to tat each day - to get away from an ongoing long pattern - and fun guessing.
I'm sticking with my ****
The red came through fine on my screen - A-OK here!
Have a good day!

Hi :>( I'm stuck between VLP (11/4") 1DS + Vlp (how do we twist) 6ds chain RW
I did it once and it didn't cover the space between the ch 10 lj (R3) -

Jane,
Sat down yesterday with all the instructions and caught up. I think it's an animal that has received a lot of "press" lately. If it's what I think, scientists are trying to gather sweat from the wild ones. It seems to be a potent sun-block as well as having antibacterial properties (if I remember the story from NBC's Today show one morning last week). At any rate, my "Tat it and See" is very floral because that's the ball of thread I had handiest. Happy Tatting!! TeresaW in NC

Ta DA! Finally got through my 'thick' headedness. Thank your for the assistance.
Sherry - we can read backwards, too. LOL
Glad I did this in a grey(ish) Ecru rather than yellow. I can see a yellow submarine but not a yellow ************.

Well it looks like my colours are all wrong! I have a grassy-green thread up to day 7 when I ran out & orange thread starting from day 8! (I'm hoping there's enough on the shuttle to complete the project.) Not appropriate colours for what I'm guessing it is, but very "Jane-like" I think.
