Guesses and when they were submitted!

This is a record of the guesses as they came in. It's interesting to see when and who was right!!!

Tine wrote just before Day 6 went out and said the following. She was the first to guess right although Jeff thought it was an angel on the same day.

"Hallo Jane. Are we making a woman? The Josefine rings are feeths. The part with the beads the skirt. The bead is than the breast. Groetjes Tine"

After day 6 Karen from Woodbridge VA said –

"Today I think it looks even more like a bell shape, but I keep noticing that there are still two unused button holes on that button on the top...so this could just as easily be a full skirt on a ladies gown."

Wally wrote before she'd seen day 6 and said -
"Hmm... This is looking like a ballerina or something like that. "

After day 7 Wally said this –
"See? I knew it was going to mirror the other side. I keep saying will be a Southern Belle or something like that! Will we be adding now the 3rd color? Should it be flesh color? lol I didn't forget that you said 3 shuttles with 3 colors. And the bonus will be the pattern for the groom. lol"

Again on looking at day 8 Zarina said –
"I think I know what it is - a lady in the old fashion dress that they wear with a whale bone fitting underneath to give that big bell shape. The give away (if I'm right) is the third color need to be natural, beige, or pink for the skin..."

Wednesday and more completed .....

Tami's had trouble sending her picture to me but I'm very pleased to have it now. I think her lady's been travelling round cyberspace all day!!! Here she is -

Next message and picture came in with the following -
"Well, I finally finished up. Take note, one foot is larger than the other to be a constant reminder to me that it took me a week to figure out how to successfully make a twisted Josephine Picot. I think the colors I used are telling me to call her Weird Betty.
Also, I continue to be in awe for your ability to use tatting stitches to achieve specific shapes. I am hoping some of this content sink into my overworked gray matter. Thanks so much for the wonderful learning experience. It makes me feel as if I just returned from a Palmetto
Workshop."

Marcella is an amazing person. She's a relatively new tatter and uses the needle tatting method. Not only has she managed to 'translate' my shuttle instructions to needle but she's produced two excellent pieces of work. This is her message and her two pieces.

"I did complete the first one but didn't think it was as good as those posted so hadn't sent it before. Changed my mind...here is my "Richard". And here is Helga, again I'm not certain she is up to the rest. But, I'm a fairly new tatter, I attended a once a month needle-tatting class for about about a year and a half...so, I only know how to tat with needles. Makes some of the parts kind of a challenge."

Next person to send her piece is Star (DO take a close look at the eyes) who says -
"I have learned a lot!! now I just need to find more time to practice and get better and then it will be onto designing! thank you again!"

I think these two are out to confuse me as next into the inbox was another Sylvia - this time from Canada. She says -

"Oh what fun this was. More........More..........More!
Here are my ladies!!! Elena and Ann (named after friends of mine)."
I couldn't open Sylvia's file so am waiting for her to send another!!!
Ah, here it is now and well worth waiting for. What LOVELY colours.

Next is Sylvia's. She's called hers Esmerelda and she lives in Wales!!!
-
"
Here tis Jane, much enjoyed"

Here's Laura's now. Her remarks are quite true about being old!!
"I've named our little girl Agatha as she was such a mystery!
Thanks Jane. I enjoyed this very much and learned some new things. Never too old, or too smart to learn!"

Now we have Pamela from Ireland. She says -
"Here she is, not sure if the 2 beads were meant to be lips or a collar..mine look a bit washed out. Changed the eye beads when I realised as they wouldn't have looked good. Thanks for the fun once again."

Liz is next and says -
"Here she is, still have to 'hide' a couple threads, but she is DONE!"

Nancy from Canada is next and she says - "
Finally finished my TIAS. I have been busy with the cruise ships getting my Tartan clothing ready. I really enjoyed doing this TIAS. I hope there is another one soon. Had fun doing it."

Adrian's completed lady is next and he said -
"
It's been great fun. Especially seeing all the other tatters' creations and the speculations as to what it'll turn into at the end."

Still in The Netherlands and the next one in is from Nel. She sent hers to Riet who sent it on to me. Riet's message is this -
"
Here a picture of Nel Westerlaken She made a card and glue her lady on the card She wrote that it was really fun to do and asked me to mail it to you."

Next to The Netherlands and Tine who has also made hers into a very pretty picture -

"This is mine tatlady. Ze is greting you and thanks you so verry much for the nice tatting hours. I'll wait for the next. It was verry nice to do."

Now we're in Sweden with Ann-Sofie who says
-
"My girl has been tatting too much that´s why her eyes are so red. In fact, these are the only bigger beeds I have at the moment. I think she looks pretty any way."

Back to the USA for Sharon's completed piece -
"Great grandson Aracin on the eight day said it was a kitty cat. So I named her kitty."

Ellen sent this picture of her finished piece!!

"Here's Rose in Singapore!"

Now we have a budding princess who needs a tiara!!!
"
Here is my finished princess. I think she needs a tiara. I really enjoyed participating."

Next is Jane in the UK who says -
"
I feel really sad now that it is all over. I have enjoyed myself so much and am really proud of my Maisie (named after my Auntie) I have never bonded so well with a piece of tatting. I do hope that someone will come forward to allow you the entertainment you have given us over the past few weeks."

Here is Becky's completed lady too. She says this -
"have thoroughly enjoyed the anticipation and several members of my family have gotten involved in the process of guessing what the final product will be."

Next is from Sue and it's interesting to see what she has to say about her re-discovery of tatting. Thanks, Sue -
"
I truly enjoyed my very first tias with you. I learned split rings, beads, and hiding ends. I even discovered my tatting was pretty even, considering I haven't ever really done anything with it since I learned in 1973. Now I've discovered that it's not all lace and doilies. YAY! I can maybe create (or unvent, in a famous knitter's words) something I can enjoy."

First this morning is from Riet to whom I would like to say a very big thanks for translating this into Dutch for her group in The Netherlands. Here is what Riet has to say -

"Here is my little one Her name is Poeike"

Completed TIAS's!!!!

Just caught me before I turn off the laptop. June has sent in her completed TIAS and says -
"
Just finished Daisy May."

Elizabeth in Mobile has just sent her lady in (named, of course!). This is what she says -
"
She is to cute for words. You have outdone yourself. I really enjoyed this. I am going to call this one Southern Lizzy."

Carla's lady has now arrived. Look at the beads on her braids! Carla said -
"
Here is my Lovely lady. Tatting it was a pleasure. I hope, in time, Tias 4 will arrive. Thank you fore tias 3."

Nita's made her lady now and she said this -
"Here she is, I still think she is a little girl, and I named her "Goldilocks. She is looking for her 3 bears. Have thoroughly enjoyed this one, and look forward to the next. "

The next finished lady is from Marie who says -
"All Finished. Now that makes me sad. :-(
But here she is........"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let your hair down!" What fun that was."

Jenny has now decided on the name of her figure.
"
Her name is Polly, so here she is. I think the button is a bit too big, but I will make a friend for her with a different button and have a go at a different hairstyle."

Look at what Katie's done with her three! Isn't this just too cute? Think what you can do when you've got the bonus, Katie!!!!
" My three little dickens walked out to the garden and transformed into "three little maids all in a row"! Thanks for taking us there."

Now we have Pam's. She says this which I thought very funny!
"
Well, here we are for the last time this TIAS. I think I'll call her Tizzy as she's had me in a tizzy from time to time. Many thanks once again for all the fun you and everyone has given over the last few weeks. I'll really miss it, as someone said earlier, it really becomes addictive.
PS Looking forward to the bonus."

Margaret too has had fun with the hair. I think it's a 'big hair' day -
"
Here is Princess Goldielocks, on her way from the hairdressers, where she has been getting ready for the ball. She will give you a twirll so that you can see her tiara and evening bag. I hope she doesn't keep me up too late waiting to hear all about it."

Next is Ginny who's given hers purple hair but for a VERY good reason!! Here's her message -
"
Here she is a small version on Sue Hanson ready for a party."

Here's the one we've all been waiting for - GiGi who has walked in thanks to Marjan! Here's the message that came with the two pictures!!!
"I proudly present you GiGi!
Date of birth: june 10 - 2008
Place of birth: somewhere in Good Old England....
GiGi is so happy Jane... she's jumping around, singing all the time.... and you know what? She found a job!! Yeah she did!
She just started a wellnesscentre for stressed, burned-out, overexccited turned-around-upside-down cows.... isn't that lovely??
She sends all her love for you and Richard - and will you please be so kind to tell Richard that the wellnesscentre is also open to hippo's and there is no need for him to be stressed, she is just looking forward to take care of him!
Well anyway Jane, I've enjoyed your TIAS enormously!
It really became an addiction and I do hope that one day... one day soon maybe... for now all my (and GiGi's!) love and hope 'to speak' to you again soon!

Next (and after a hurried breakfast!) is Marian's and she says -
"I’ve had seen I am not the first but here is my tat girl. I like to do the tias with you and want to thank you for it. I am curious about the bonus."
It's on the way, Marian!!!

A short while later Maureen's came in. She says - "
Here she is, Jane, blond hair and all. As soon as she got her eyes - (I rewound the shuttle, because yellow eyes would not have been a good look!) - she saw the fridge, and that is where she has decided to live. She says she is the kitchen fairy, since she had her inception on the kitchen table, and that is where she feels she belongs......"

Just within an hour Jeff sent his completed lady. I LOVE and adore the new hairstyle he's given her. This is what he said -
"Here is my completed TIAS 3 project. As you can see, I added a lot of really large picots on the final chain for a variation on the hair. Thank you so much for hosting another TIAS. I do hope someone hosts another TIAS soon." So do I, Jeff, so do I.

Tuesday and the last part released!!!

Diane submitted day 8 'in progress'.
"
We've had company at our house and I've gotten very behind on my project. Attached is a scan of my Day 8 (partial). I have discovered that my button is too large."

Last in my inbox this morning and looking divine, are Katie's triplets. Those colours are fantastic, Katie. Here's what she has to say -

" Wow, Jane, see what my three little dickens turned into?! Forget the dancing in the dark now. Looking forward to the last round."

Teresa sent hers in and said -
"Well, here she is ... at least through Day 10. She's related to Popeye the Sailor ... you'll have to see my blog for a better explanation unless you can tell directly from the picture."

Ellen has sent in days 9 and 10 with the following -
"Here's Day 9 and 10 photos. I too cheated and replaced pink with black beads. So, it's a lady after all!?! My children are following the progress of the TIAS, and enjoy looking at everyone's photos."

First in this morning is from Star who sent her scan of day 10

Monday and day 10 etc!!

Sharon has now completed day 10 and here's her picture and comments
"Great grandson Aracin on the eight day said it was a kitty cat. So I named her kitty."

Now we have Nita's comments and pictures -
"Here she is in all her glory except the last installment her hair/wig? :)
Anxious to find out what she really is. I wonder if she can tat with those long fingers?? knowing you Jane, Yes she can. Have thoroughly enjoyed this."

Pam is next with her picture and comments -
"Well, she's just beautiful. I'm afraid I cheated a bit and rewound my shuttle with 2 dark beads as I didn't want her to have green eyes but then if I gave her red hair it wouldn't have mattered would it. Last day tomorrow, what will I do? This has been such fun and I have learnt so much. All my Christmas tatting will have beads on this year."

Laura has just sent in her day 10 with the following remark!! She's found out at long last that I've been having an online affair with her DH!!!!!
"I'm still not sure she is a she. Your boyfriend Bill thinks it is a sheep but I pointed out to him that she has five fingers, if that's what they are!"

Ah, just had a comment come in from Laura so will post it here too!!! -

"Well, number one comment is "I've known about the online affair for some time. I just couldn't accept it! Number two comment - these are so funny! Number three comment - I didn't cheat so my poor "whatever" has pearl eyes and looks startled. Maybe that is because she has just found out her dad is having an online affair!"

Now be warned - this is a long message AND it's from Marjan so be prepared to laugh!!! Hold tight, here we go -
"It is thanks to the indestructible good mood of GiGi that we still are sound of mind because when we saw day 10...
At first GiGi thought you were making her a basket for her haysticks, but then...... with two blue eyes in it?? No...
I was very afraid to end up with a very upset turned-around-upside-down-cow but ..... all of the sudden...
GiGi smiled, she ran to the mirror, turned herself upside down and started crying... no, no tears of sadness but big tears of happiness! You've made her! You've made a GiGi!! Oh, she is so happy! Ever since that moment, she realised she was a GiGi, she stands in front of the mirror, telling me - and herself - how beautiful, elegant, priceless, fancy, fashionable, intelligent, slim, smart she is....
It's very tiring, I can tell you, to hear a turned-araound-upside-down-cow being so 'proud' of herself but a thousand times better than her being upset. GiGi wants me to tell you that she fancys black hair ..... and that she is looking forward for the last touch to make her natural beauty look even perfect.
"Finally" she says... "finally I've found somebody who understands and appreciates me......."lots of greetings from sunny, warm Belgium from the proud godmother of GiGi!

Sylvia says this -
"So it's an Esmeralda after all, but I expect she knows the Koala called Herbert!!!! I am busy catching up on my holiday washing and tatting her in between!!"

Wendy made me laugh with her comment!!!
"
Oh drat, she's going to have pink eyes now !!!."

Lunchtime and the first one finished with day 10 is Ginny -

"here is my bald little girl wait until you see the color of her hair"
