Thursday and time for more!

Oh dear, I've let my friend Ridgewoman down.  I went to bed instead of uploading her day 8.  Well how was I to know it was going to drop into my inbox as soon as I went off to bed?!
Here is what she said just after I'd sent her an email and gone!
"OH NO!!!!! YOU CAN’T GO TO BED, YET>  HERE is Day 8 taking off into the sky (yes, the sun came out here).  I think it is an airplane!  I see motors...windows... yup.  Airplane!"

Next in is from Beelizabeth who says:-
"It looks like Alli Alligator may have developed some airplane engine tumors on his front legs.  He may have to join the dog-eat-dog world of the airline business and eat up the the rabbit airlines competition!! That crocodile better not have eaten Alli's rabbit and laid down for a nap- if he did, that croc will be in for a big fight."
What a vivid imagination you have, Beelizabeth!!!!

Next in is from Rose Anne who says:-
"OK lock my answer in for an airplane with the beads as the portholes and we're building towards the front and then the final wing behind the plane!  This was so much fun.  Thank you Jane!!!"

Following in hot on Rose Anne's heels is Sue Anna who is stuck in the middle of a huge snow storm.  Great to have extra tatting time, though!  She says:-
"Hi Jane from the winter wonderland!  Attached is my 'Bleep'. He looks kind of like the pet of Olive Oil and Pop Eye that would pop in and out! lol Sue Anna."

Now we have Katharine B from SC who says:-
"It's Katharine B. from South Carolina.  I've been keeping up with the tatting just not emailing my progress.  Here's day 8.  I am at a total loss as to what it could be.  Try as I might I can't find anything to relate it to the Royal Wedding!  Thanks."
Hmm, Katharine the Royal Wedding wasn't even in the pipeline until after I'd designed the 'thingy'.  Good idea for next year, though!!!!

Next in with a VERY pretty pansy shuttle to show off is Patsy G who says:-
"Here's my day 8 and my solution.  I'm sticking with airplane.  The beads are the windows of the airplane.  We have just finished a large wing with two engines  and the ring at the end of the wing is the little red flashing light. That's my solution and I'm sticking with it.  Maybe.  : )"

Now we have Sharren's day 8 with help from her husband!!!  She says:-
"This has moved way beyond my guesses - what the heck is this???  David said to tell you his guess is an axolotl."
OK so I didn't know what an axolotle was either so I had to look it up.  Here's a link!!!

Next is from Karen L who says:-
"Only two more days??? How can it be coming to an end??? Still no guesses, just having fun with the tatting."

Star has just sent in her day 7.  She's a busy lady so no time for a message.  Thanks for the picture, Star.

Now we have Iza's day 7 and she says (she's very right too):-
"I know it is not race, but I don't postpone this one. It is fun!  Here is my next day.  Thanks."

Next is from Jeanne L who says:-
"Hi Jane, here is day 8.  No guesses, I will just be pleasantly surprised to find out what we are tatting."

Now with a brief message is Bernice:-
"Day 7 & 8 from Bernice"

Now you've just GOT to read this next comment.  This is one clever lass who has got it worked out (she thinks!!!).  Don't forget before reading it that I live very, very close to where Shakespeare was born and do take that into consideration!!!!
Marty says:-
"Here's my day 8 -- I did the other 7 days too (see?), but didn't scan them.  I've figured out what we're making.  It's a poet.  It's embarrassing to take so long and only get it after that last clue.  Very cleverly, I've been reading the file names.  Day 8 did it -- Bobby Bruce.  So, we're tatting a poet who can make a poem out of: Snow, Anglea, Dinahs, Spagboll, Thrush, Kidsrfun, Fishchips.  Yeah, pretty strange poem, but then there are some pretty strange poets out there.  This is one of them -- strangest form I ever did see in a poet."
I must add to this - Bobby and Bruce are my friends and Bruce is actually a direct descendent of Anne Hathaway.  Go figure!!!!!

Finally in my inbox this morning is Erika who has sent this colourful picture.

Next in on a sunny afternoon here in my corner of tat land is Sarah who says:-
"Hi Jane, I got to the end of day 8 only to discover I had not tatted the required number of rings on day 7! ...and just when I was beginning to think I might actually get through a pattern without having to un-tat!... Ah well, un-tat I did and here is the result. I am inclined to agree with others who are thinking jet airplane... but who knows... could change altogether with next installment. OH the anticipation! :-
Laugh, sing and count your blessings. Doing this little TIAS is counted as one of mine. :-)"

Now I have a message from Sandy S who says:-
"Due to maintenance and scheduling delays my day 8 had trouble with boarding, but now has confidently taken off and soared over the pond to land in your inbox and taxi into sight.... yup... I'm going with an airplane!!!"
Next to drop in is Brenda who says:-
"Here is my day 8. I have given up guessing. Will wait and see what it is."

Now the next arrival is from the very cold part of America - Alaska.  Kay Lynn says:-
"Here's my Day #8, and I've noticed yet another Berner hair with my lizard.  Evidently, my lizard likes associating with my Bernese Mt. Dogs.  I haven't changed my idea, but truly wonder what the little rings on that front leg represent...... ??  With only two days left to go, you've certainly kept most of us guessing."

Next in is from Arlene who has had a bit of a hiccup.  She says:-
"I made a mistake with my size 80 version so that picture will be delayed.  I'm going back to my airplane guess."

Arlene's back a little later with her day 8 in a size 80 thread.  Brave woman!!!  Here's what she says this time:-
"here it is, in size 80. Pay no attention to the stray threads.  Pleeeeeease, pay no attention to them."
I see no stray threads, Arlene!!!!!

Now we have Nicole with days 6 & 7.  She says:-
"ok with the blizzard and snow days... I am behind lol here is the combined 6&7 I am working on 8 now.... My Lizzard has a huge leg now..... I think its turning into a dog........ Maybe.....lol"

Just want to share this comment with you from Patsy.  I remarked further up the page on her pansy shuttle so thought I'd put her remarks here.  I'm even MORE impressed now.  This is what Patsy said:-
"You mentioned my pansy shuttle in the TIAS comments. I just wanted to tell you that those are "real" flowers.  They are a miniature pansy that was growing in my yard that I dried then with clear nail polish I applied them to my "made in England" Aero shuttles so that if ever one of my shuttles "walked away" I could identify it.  I'm very protective of my "made in England" Aero shuttles."

Finally on my way to bed I have Anita's comment and picture.  She says:-
"Now you have Mr. Cent A. Pede, Ms Elizabeth (Liz) Ard and I all 3 confused.  We're just not sure what's being created here.  Could it be that we have completely metamorphosed into a very gaily decked Pol R. Bear who is enjoying the U S's recently blizzard?"

Wednesday again!!

Another Wednesday and that means it's time for Day 8 which is here.  I'll be out all morning teaching.  I do the library on a Wednesday and a local 'old people's home' on a Tuesday morning.  What do I do?  Teach Silver Surfers - a voluntary thing but something I LOVE.
So, who will be first in today?  Will it be the intrepid Isa, the manic Maureen or 'nobody's going to stop me' Omar?  Only time will tell!!!

First of all I have the overnight arrivals headed by Melanie C who says:-
"Here's Day 7. I took a scan of day 6, but it evaporated! So, here's my current critter. yes, I'm thinking it's an animal of some kind. Perhaps a dog flopped down on the carpet after a good run in the park?  Looking forward to Day 8."

Next in is from Sarah with her days 6 and 7 and she says:-
"The more I tat this TIAS the more puzzled I become. More clues please, please, please give me more clues!    :-)"

Now I have Iza with her days 6 & 7 and who says:-
"I am terrible! I know that and I am really sorry. I cannot wait for another piece of your pattern - this is true. But it is also thruth that I cannot sit by computer to upload my pictures. If I sit by computer at night, I am gone. I search the Internet and I always find something new and very interesting. I try to avoid it.
Today, I let myself "sink"into the Internet.
I'm sending to days od your project and my work."

Finally before the day 8 is due out I have Patsy who has this to say:-
"Here is my day 7.  I think I'll reverse my former guess of cartoon airplane with turned up nose.
Now it's the tail end of a yet to be completed air plane."

Next in (after shower and before breakfast) is from Margaretha who says:-
"Hi Jane! Hope all is well with you here is my day 7 and I reckon it's a gator!"

Well the answer to who got here first on day 8 is ................. Isa by just two minutes.  VERY closely followed by Maureen.
So Isa says:-
"Good Morning Jane:  I hope my TIAS day 8 arrive in time :), from a rainy day here in the south of Sweden with 0 degree C/34F.  Send you and all a big hug."

Closely followed by two short, short minutes - here is Maureen.
"Running as fast as I can.... part 8 should have come yesterday, because then I could have said "Rabbits Rabbits Rabbits" for the new month! It's either a dinosaur or an aeroplane with a fat leg - or maybe it's a prehistoric sort of rabbit - still evolving......"

Just back and I've found this message from Isa following on from her previous one!!!
"Hi Jane I was in hurry before and i forgot to show you my pictures.
Here in the first one I'm waiting for TIAS day 8 and the second one in the finished part of TIAS DAY 8."

Now this is from Omar who says:-
"Here is my day 8.  I didn’t hurry tonight...Still getting the dinner ready.... Another stinker of a day ....boiling hot and the nights are really hot too....very hard to sleep.  We are all very concerned about poor Queensland again!!! There is a category 5 cyclone about to hit the northern coast. Great devastation is expected. The cyclone that destroyed Darwin was a category 4.  I’m thinking that this is starting to look a lot like a crocodile lying flat out.  Whoops there goes my oven timer.  Looking forward to Day 9."

Next day 8 is from Jenni who says:-
"Finally got the scanner going.  Here is Day 8.  OK it is a crocodile that has just eaten a rabbit......."

Now in is Nima's and she says:-
"Here is my day 8 progress...I was waiting for today's piece of pattern...was curious to see how it is going to change my guess...lol...I'm afraid it has a swollen leg...or is it my work that made it swollen..."

Now from the dear old UK comes Geraldine who says:-
"welcome to windsday very blusty here in loughborough.  Well I'm changing my idea from animal to airplane, why because if this is an animal it has funny front legs.  You have us all on tender hooks as to what it is, well done brain cell3# has done it again.  happy tatting."

Finally in this batch I have Rosemary's days seven and eight.  She says:-
"Hi Jane, finally I've caught up and here is my effort.  I'm enjoying the process but I can't figure out what I'm tatting this time.  Enjoying  this TIAS.  Wish this heatwave would go away it saps all my energy.  It's hot every night so I seem to be tired all the time.  Looking forward to Day 9!"
Next I have Valerie who says:-
"TIAS Day 8 is done! I'm inclined to think it's a creature... I see "two eyes" (the 2 blue rings on the top of its head) but I guess you didn't include beads there so they won't give your "secret" away until the time is right. HEEHEE.  I WANT MORE!"

Next in is from Jane who says this:-
"Hi Jane, can't wait for the next installments! Happy tats, Jane"

OK, next in is from Heather M who has this to say:-
"OK... today it has really thrown me, not sure what it is ???? I am sure it will work out in the end thou ..... heather"

Now here's Sonja back again with her day 8 and a WONDERFUL drawing.  She says:-
"Hello Jane and Riet.  Here my day 8. I go back to my idea about a crocodil (but in reality no idea)
Fun, fun, fun."

Following in next is Josie who says:-
"I see Hamish is flying in again, I change my mind every day.   You really have managed to keep us guessing :-)  happy tatting."

Next is from Katie V who says:-
"I think I've got it!  Beowulf had his Grendel, surely a figment of a Brain Cell #3.  Yours is a newly figmented, mythical Tatty Beast, an explosion, er, sorry, creation, from your Brain Cell #3!  Do wonder we can't guess it!  What are those nubbins we tatted this time?
But,  do I really want four of them?!! ;)"
SO, where are the other three, then Katie?!?!?

Next is a short guess from Elizabeth:-
"Leaping Lizard coming in."
Just in is day 8 from Terry who made me smile with his comment.  Haven't we all done this???
"Day 8 was by far the hardest pattern for me. I think I was too excited. I managed to make rings instead of chains and chains instead of rings. Spent too much time untatting - although, I'm pretty good at it since I get so much practice.  I have to stick with the airplane, especially since someone boarded while I was getting ready to take the picture."

Next in is from Margaret J who is in a windy part of the UK - but not as windy as those of you down in Australia.  Here is what she says:-
"As I started arraigning the^&*_+ on the scanner today it struck me that they looked rather like Norfolk windmills.  We have got enough wind here to keep several windmills going.  But thankfully, not cyclones, we are thinking of you all in Australia."

Next piece in is from Wanda.  Please take a minute to look at the tatting in the background of this picture too.  Amazing.  This is what Wanda says:-
"Here's my day 8 after a few minor problems. I noticed this morning that I didn't follow directions for day 7 very well so the colors are switched, but I just left it that way:-)  Then my thread broke which I did fix.  I'm not sure what this is yet but I think it's trying to play Chameleon, maybe because of the problems I had?"

The next picture and comment come from Melanie C who says:-
"My cats must have read the message I sent yesterday. They shed over my desk and scanner so well, you can see the fur tatted into this little guy.....well, you have to look close. I still think it's a critter taking a rest with me after all that romping outside the last 4 days.  Two more days to go???? hmmmmmmm"

Next in is from Caroline who sends her day 8 in too.  She says:-
"I am beginning to think that my guess might be wrong.  You are sure making sure we are in suspense."
Next in is from Joanie who says:-
"I also thought it looked like elephants sitting with their front legs and trunks going up! I think it was Margaret J's picture!!! You have really outfoxed us this time!!!"

Next is from Marco who has this to say:-
"Here is a picture from my day 7 and 8.  No  new ideas what so ever. Haha"

Final one today as I've got to get some sleep is from Wendy who says:-
"Dolphin, shark, whale?"

Tuesday's new pieces

Tomorrow morning will be Day 8 - don't forget!!!

Today we start off with Arlene who says:-
"in size 20 & size 80.  I finally got them done at lunch today.  Very confused dragon? You're laughing, aren't you? I can hear you, you know."

Next in my inbox is from Martha who has this to say:-
"Well, I've dug out the pink&blue bead and used some purple ones instead.  One of the pitfalls of variegated thread--beads or another thread that look good held up next to the ball may look entirely wrong once work is begun.  I'm still enjoying the Pop-a-bobbin shuttle."

Now we have Bernice who has sent in the following picture.

The next comment and picture come from typstatting who says:-
"Hallo Jane! Here is day 6 of my TIAS have an idea or two but nothing definite yet!"

The final person with this hilarious picture in my inbox this morning is Anita who says:-
"Hi Jane,
I got a little behind the past few days, but I'm caught up now.
I'm beginning to think that Mr. Cent A. Pede might just be a Ms.   In fact, the metamorphosis may be developing into a Ms Elizabeth Ard, more commonly know as Ms. Liz Ard.  She was last seen cavorting in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona, USA!"

Next in is from Nancy L who sounds as if she's going through a bad patch with the weather.  She says:-
"Hello Jane, So glad to be tatting this morning  I think my little creature took a turn (LOL) he doesn't want to stick around for our CRAZY weather, 70's this morning with tornado warnings and dropping to the 20's by tonite and maybe flurries later this week. Louisiana U.S.A weather report. So again so glad to be tatting!!!"

After a breather I'm back with a few more pictures and comments.

First in this time is from Sandra who has also blogged her days 6 & 7.  She says:-
"I'm thinking it's a lizard or a gecko or a kimodo dragon.  Also posted on my blog.  Sandra the Crazy Mom.

Next in is from Shannon who says:-
"This is my TIAS. My guess would be a frog in metamorphosis."

The next comment and picture comes from Brenda who says:-
"I was unable to do the TIAS day by day but I have managed to catch up to day 6.  I think it might be Concorde."

Next is from Kay Lynn who says:-
"For Day 7, I just got to tatting it.   My guess hasn't changed, but I do note that the new foot seems to be a bit broader in the base than the back two.  :-)   Maybe an adaptation for this lizard that helps it to gain traction quickly.   Interesting how the competition for first TIAS of the day has heated up.....Fun!  I think they're competing when I'm sound asleep, as their entries are posted as I first check my computer in the a.m.  Looking forward to Day 8 to see our next body addition."

Poor Nancy S - the following five words made me feel quite sad!
"I'm all out of guesses."
