The weather has warmed up and with that it's brought the rain. How boring.
Anyway I have a couple more arrivals from overnight so here they are.
71. First is from Bev who has pointed out that a group of foxes is a skulk. I hadn't thought to look that up before so thank you, Bev. Here's what she says
"Here is my foxy bookmark, made in better colours. He did look like roadkill when he was all green! I don’t know the brand or colours for my thread. The labels have long gone. That’s why I now tape the labels inside the tube once they are ready to fall off.
It was great to see so many tatters from so many countries. Thank you for all your hard work. Great fun with a few challenges thrown in.
Bev from Australia"
72. Also in my inbox this morning is Krystal who says
"Hi, I responded in text on facebook, but here he is!
I hadn't sent mine in at all this time. :( life was crazy and stressful but I so looked forward to the tat it and see days. Even when I fell behind on the head. This was my third time participating in tat it and see. And I'm so glad you did it again!!
I live in sunny California, USA.
My thread included Lizbeth 20 color 136 autumn spice along with Cebelia 30 712 cream for the body and tail. And i changed from the lizbeth to Cebelia 20 816 garnet for the heads outline.
Thank you for all the work you put into these. They truly are a joy and the small chunks along with seeing everyone's participation is so encouraging and helpful to try new things and keep going.
Krystal L "
Thanks, Krystal. I don't 'do' Facebook much as I find things get lost so quickly there. Thank you for taking part and it's great that you managed to send in the finished fox. I appreciate that. Love the whiskers, by the way.
73. Celine has just arrived in my inbox with her finished fox and she has this to say
"Hi Jane
Here is my Foxy bookmark.
I just see that I mixed the two threads in the first part.....
for this Tias I have been using Lizbeth 20 threads in color 164 ( blue to green) and color 606 dark grey and the beads Miyuki 11/0 color White Pearl Ceylon"
Love the colours you've used, Celine. Thank you for sending him in.
74. Andrea has just arrived with two foxy bookmarks! She says
“Hi Jane,
I absolutely love my foxy bookmarks! Thank you so much for yet another brilliant challenge. It's been fun x
I used Lizbeth 20 for 3 of the threads and some hand dyed thread for the other.
I hope you continue to outfox us xxx 🤣🤣🦊🦊🦊🤣🤣”
Ha, ha, ‘outfox’ - love that. I’ll do my best, Andrea!!
75. Helene is next in with her foxy bookmark. She has this to say
“ TIAS 2021 Bonsoir Jane . Lors de ma 1ére proposition j'avais dit que cela pouvait être un coq 🐔. Nous avons fait son prédateur !! Le renard 🦊🤣. Merci pour cette belle aventure. À l'année prochaine 🙏
TIAS 2021 Good evening Jane. During my first proposal I said that it could be a rooster 🐔. We made his predator !! The fox 🦊🤣. Thank you for this great adventure. See you next year 🙏“
That’s very true that the fox is the predator of the rooster! May I suggest you don’t keep the fox with the rooster with you tatting bits.
76. The next fox to arrive is from Jackie who says
“ Hello Jane
Here is my tatted foxy. Sorry it's so late.
Thank you very much for 'resurrecting' the TIAS this year. I think we all needed cheering up!
I enjoyed doing the fox very much, but l did think all through that it was going to be a beaver! I've no idea what the threads are, because they're about forty years old. Could be Coats or Twilleys.
I hope you do another TIAS next year, but l realise it's a lot of work.
Thanks again. It really is much appreciated.
best wishes Jackie (from Plymouth)”
Jackie it’s not late. Late maybe when it’s taken three years to arrive and I’m only too pleased to have finished TIAS’s anytime.
77. Eva is next to arrive and she has this to say
“ Here is my fox and since I’m swedish I think it’s an Arctic fox!😄❄️
This my first TIAS but I hope not my last! Vera fun!
Thank You❤️
Eva Jordmark Lindström
Stockholm, Sweden”
I hope to see you again, Eva. Glad you enjoyed the game.
78. I’m very pleased now to present my test tatter’s fox. Ruth is an expert test tatter and excels at picking up the tiniest boo boos in my patterns. Thank you, Ruth. Here’s the fox that she did.
“ Hi Jane - okay here’s the checker fox - looking for any odd bits or bytes”
79. Next in is Wendy who says
“ Hello Jane,
Here she is, Fiona Fox. Well she is pink lol.
This was a lot of fun. Thanks you so much for organising and designing the TIAS.
Wendy x”
Fiona is wonderful dressed in pink!!! It always makes me smile when all the colours are chosen and I imagine what they’re going to look like when they’re finished. Thanks for taking part.
80 - 88 It takes a LOT to stop me in my tracks and this next skulk of foxes has certainly done that. No, it’s not a typo on the numbering but this truly has amazed me. Nona sent this in with the following message
“ Hi Jane,
Our local tatting group, Bay Area Tatting Society (aka BATS), did your TIAS together as part of our January-February tatting project. We meet on Zoom once a month for group tatting and conversation. We had a lot of fun the past few weeks trying to guess what this TIAS would turn into. Seemed like a fox or raccoon to many of us, but with no legs in evidence, we were quite stymied! Thank you so much for doing this again this year. It was much needed during this long winter of isolation. Here is our collection of foxy bookmarks.
Nona ”
THANK YOU to the BATS. I’m beyond impressed.
89. Char has just arrived with her fox in such pretty colours. Here is her picture and comment
“ Hi Jane,
I haven't been able to send progress pictures, but really enjoy each step and seeing everybody else's progressive guesses.
Here is my Foxy "Chameleon" Bookmark. My Thread is Lizbeth, size 20. Colors, to empty shuttles: # 153 Rainbow Taffy, # 159 Easter Eggs, #658 Ocean Turquois LT., #657 Ocean Turquois DK.
Like all the others I look forward to each new TIA. Please, Please continue.
Char H. Northern Idaho, USA”
90. Just arrived in the inbox is Margaret who says this
“ Sorry my Mr. Fox (I know he's pink, but he is handsome and therefore male!) is a bit late. I thought I had left him looking at Golden Eagles, but he managed to find his way to the pheasants for some reason - can't imagine why!
He did take a bit of finding in the book!
Thanks for a great Tat It and See - it was great fun,
Margaret Howie”
Oh dear - I fear for the pheasants and their future, Margaret!!!
91. Another BATTY fox has arrived. I think he missed the bus and had to walk!!! The message that came with him is
“Here’s one more BATTY fox from the BATS in Wisconsin:
The threads are Lizbeth 20, colors 654 (navy) and 686 (sea green lt). It was fun. Thanks for all of your work in making our TIAS happen.“
Right - time for my beauty sleep. Well I do try but in 77 years of sleeping it hasn't worked!!!!
