Day 5

Hello Sherry,
I decided that I didn't like the yellow color showing up in the pink chains when they were joined to the vsp picots so I used the Catherine Wheel join. ~LadyTats

I did not have time to do the TIAS last week and finally caught up over the weekend. I have not done block tatting before but with instructions from Jane and Sherry, it was not too difficult. I had a fun time choosing thread colours for this. I was thinking of 3 contrasting colours. Hmmm what is it going to be? ~Wendy

Here's my Day 3 to 5 of TIAS 4, tatted with 3 co-ordinated purples of Flora 20 threads. Look like candles to me, but I doubt I would have guess it. Just wonder how Jane could figure them out already!

What is it?! I see some of us think it may be a candle. Hmmm....one of Sherry's hints was 'illuminate', but after seeing Day 5 completed I've been pondering it. Maybe this is a 3-D TIAS. Could it be a church or chapel of some sort? They are illuminated either by electric light or candles. Hmmmm.... I wonder.

Sherry,
Here is my effort at the TIAS. I am not to sure about my color choices but we will see.

I'm really enjoying playing with my lego. So many years since I was in the classroom with the tinies but I do get to play with small grandsons from time to time nowadays. Never been allowed to play with TATTED lego before!!! Jane

Sherry,
Day 5 for me still no idea what it will be. this piece reminds me of a dog house with the red part being the door LOL.

Day 4

TattingChic

Here are my TIAS projects through Day 4. It made me think of a candle and my husband said it looked like Baby Jesus in the manger.
Becky

Those are really good guesses Becky and hubby! (:

Still don't know what it is, but I'm more intrigued after today! TattyCat

Sherry asked for a light color, a medium color and a dark color. Well, I didn't have the 3 shades in the same color, so I have had to make do with 3 different colors in different shades. It will be interesting to see how this turns out.

NOTE: Your colors do not have to be in the same color family.

Now my lego is beginning to take shape. Today it's going to be a Christmas candle. Mmmmmm, probably not as we're climbing out of the flame with a split ring!!!Jane - bewitched and bewildered!!!

Sherry, This is my progress so far. Is it something for the ButtonFamily? Thank you for doing this for us. Karen

Sherry,
Getting interesting now, bring it on. lots of fun and wondering what it could possibly be.

TattingChic

SHERRY,
Here is my 3. wow I am tatting in christmas colors except for the light shade, hope it wont clash with whatever this is.
Nita

While looking for thread in 3 shades of the same color (pink Altin Basak), I found some Venus size 40 (I saw 20 on the label and thought it was size 20, but it really is 20 g!), so I decided to do 2 TIAS projects! My 4 year old daughter thinks that it is a bird cage (briefly said it was a walker for Grandpa to walk with).

Here are all 3 steps for #4 T.I.A.S. so far Sherry's pattern has lots of block tatting. I think that everyone doing the TIAS will be an expert at block tatting by the time we are finished.

Jane E.
I reckon it's lego that we're making. See how I'm building mine into something now? Not sure what the something's going to be yet but I just know this is lego!!!!X J

Day 2

From Singtatter:
Here's my Day 1 and 2. This TIAS is so different from the previous - so many elements to tat and put aside, just like a jigsaw puzzle!

Hi Sherry. I don't have a blog, so I am sending my Day 1 & Day 2 together to you.

I'm fairly new to Tatting, although I have taken part in the other 3 TIAS. This is my first attempt at block tatting and I followed Jane's instructions and I didn't have any problems. I think I need to get my picot's smaller. I find block Tatting very soothing to do.
Bring on Day 3.

Best Wishes

Another lady has arrived!

This is from Diane who says -
"I finally finished my girl! She's sad because her creator didn't follow directions well and because she took so long to be created. The only beads I had for her mouth were small pink ones so I used 4 instead of two, and she ended up with a frown."

A hippo and a lady!!

Today another hippo has strolled into the bloat!!!! This is from Heidi who says - "I did do my hippo this February and neglected to send her to you. She has a few extra stitches because I didn't pay close attention but she's definitely recognizable. She's on a bed of a hanky I got from a great tatter, Erin Benner, in Karey's exchange from Gina's list. Love the colors together!"

Brenda has also sent in her lady and says - "This was fun – thanks! Just wish I had used brighter colors but this is what I had on my shuttles already."
Thanks to SueH for lightening up the picture. I wish I could fathom out how to do that!!!!
